The International Club for the University of Bayreuth is celebrating a very special anniversary this year: 50 years of internationalism, encounters and community. For five decades, the club has been bringing together people from different countries, cultures and walks of life, thereby making an important contribution to the international and open campus life of the University of Bayreuth.

In this anniversary year, the tried-and-tested and popular event formats remain an integral part of our programme. These include our welcome parties, hikes, city tours, the summer night in the Ecological-Botanical Garden, and many other regular events that facilitate exchange, getting to know each other, and shared experiences.

In addition, members and interested parties can look forward to special anniversary formats this year. These events, developed especially for the 50th anniversary, will complement the annual programme and add a special touch. We will provide information about all dates and details in good time in our event calendar.

We also took the anniversary as an opportunity to carefully revamp our image: our logo has been given a modern refresh. The new design is in keeping with the spirit of the times, is optimised for all cross-media applications – from print to websites to social media – and reflects the open, international spirit of the International Club. The colours of the logo continue to be based on those of the University of Bayreuth, demonstrating our close connection and affiliation.

We look back with pride on our long history. We would like to express our special thanks to everyone who has accompanied, supported, and shaped the International Club over the years – the former board members, the university administrators, our partners, and above all our members, who actively contribute with great commitment and bring the club to life.

We look forward to a multifaceted anniversary year in which we will continue to pursue our mission: to promote international encounters, facilitate cultural exchange and create community. With great motivation, confidence and new ideas, we look positively to the future – and cordially invite you to join us in shaping this special year.
